Banana Republic S/S 2011

By Marta Walsh · 2010-10-28

Tuesday, October 26th, 2010, New York City. Fashion Week may be over, but fashion never sleeps, nor does Rodney Cutler, owner of Cutler/Redken salons! Early this week he created a natural, carefree look for the Banana Republic Spring/Summer 2011 runway show, held at The Waterfront in NYC.

Banana Republic S/S 2011

How to & products:

Inspired by the effortless looks and a carefree attitude, Cutler created a simple textured pony to match the relaxed yet feminine styles of the Banana Republic Spring/Summer collection:

1. Spray Cutler Volumizing Spray all over towel-dried hair and rough dry while twisting sections of hair. This gives hair some movement and body (work with your natural hair texture to make it look effortlessly-chic)

2. Once dry, create a clean side part and loosely pull hair back into a low ponytail at the nape (don't flatten the airy texture you've created from rough drying). Secure with a small elastic in the same shade as your hair color

3. Create some height at the crown by pulling out a few pieces (not all the way out) so it doesn't look too polished

4. Spray Redken 08 Wool Shake in pony and shake out to give hair texture
